Future of Haber: Habré, Habrás, Habrá, Conjugation and Use
The future of haber uses the irregular stem habr-: habré, habrás, habrá, habremos, habréis, habrán. Drop e from infinitive (hab-er → habr-). Most common form is habrá (there will be).
Habrá una fiesta el sábado.
There will be a party on Saturday.
What it is
The future of haber uses the irregular stem habr-: habré, habrás, habrá, habremos, habréis, habrán. Hab-er drops its e to form habr-, then regular future endings attach. The most common form is habrá (there will be).
In Habrá una fiesta el sábado (There will be a party on Saturday), habrá is the impersonal future form of haber, equivalent to there will be.
How to spot it
Look for habr- + endings: habré, habrás, habrá, habremos, habrán. The most frequent form is impersonal habrá (there will be / there must be).
- Habrá problemas. — There will be problems.
- Habrá unos cien invitados. — There must be about 100 guests.
- Habremos terminado. — We will have finished. (future perfect)
Habrá (impersonal there will be) is by far the most common use. Other forms (habré, habrás...) mostly appear in the future perfect (habré + past participle).

How to Use the Future of Haber
Irregular Stem: Drop e
Hab-er drops its e to form habr-, then regular future endings attach.
hab-er → habr- + é = habré.
Irregular stem, regular endings.
Habr- + endings. NOT *haberé.
Habrá Is Impersonal (Singular and Plural)
Like hay (there is/are), habrá is invariable. It's used for both singular and plural: Habrá una fiesta (there will be a party) and Habrá muchas fiestas (there will be many parties).
Habrá una persona. Habrá veinte personas.
Habrá is always singular form, regardless of what follows.
Habrá = there will be (any quantity).
Future Perfect: Habré + Past Participle
Compound future tense uses haber in the future + past participle. Habré comido = I will have eaten. Habrás llegado = you will have arrived.
Habré terminado para mañana.
I'll have finished by tomorrow.
Habr- + endings + past participle = future perfect.
Probability Use
Future of haber expresses present probability. Habrá unos veinte = There must be about twenty. Habrá llegado ya = He must have arrived already.
Habrá pasado algo (something must have happened).
Probability about the present / past.
Future haber = conjecture.
Common Mistakes with Future of Haber
Incorrect: Haberé una fiesta. — There will be a party.
Correct: Habrá una fiesta. — There will be a party.
Haber has an IRREGULAR future stem habr- (drop e from hab-er). Form is habrá, not the regular *haberé. Also, for impersonal there will be, use the 3rd person singular habrá.
Incorrect: Habrán muchas personas. — There will be many people.
Correct: Habrá muchas personas. — There will be many people.
Impersonal there will be uses singular habrá regardless of whether what follows is singular or plural. Habrá una persona OR habrá veinte personas. Habrán would be the personal form (they will have), which doesn't fit here.
Incorrect: Habre terminado. — I'll have finished.
Correct: Habré terminado. — I'll have finished.
Future yo form carries an accent: habré. Without the accent, the stress shifts and the word is misspelled.
Habrá and the Future Perfect
Habrá Is the Future of Hay
Just as hay (there is/are) is the impersonal singular present of haber, habrá is the impersonal singular future. Use for there will be (any quantity).
- Hay → habrá. Hay un problema → habrá un problema.
- There is a problem → there will be a problem.
- Hay muchas opciones → habrá muchas opciones.
- There are many options → there will be many options.
- Hay tiempo → habrá tiempo.
- There is time → there will be time.
Habrá is always singular, even when followed by a plural noun.
Future Perfect Tense
Future of haber + past participle = future perfect. Describes actions completed before a future point.
- Para mañana habré terminado.
- By tomorrow I'll have finished.
- Habremos llegado para las tres.
- We'll have arrived by three.
- Habrás visto el resultado.
- You'll have seen the result.
Common with para + future time (para mañana, para entonces) to mark the completion deadline.
